Empty Papers
Empty Paper is an object-based installation of five plaster pieces representing treaties and agreements among countries. This work was part of an art symposium in Austria under the theme of Respect. Starting this work, defining the word was of importance, the word itself and its opposition; Respect and the lack thereof, defined as "breaking an agreed upon agreement between individuals or countries." this was done to reflect on the political events that were taking place in 2018, such as the breaking of the Iran Deal and the Paris climate change agreement and the many human rights violated daily. Written on these objects are some human rights, UN resolutions, and political agreements in English, German, and Arabic.
