Concealment

These sculptures are made of fabrics dipped and molded-in Plaster and Hydrocal-Cement. These sheets of material are then cast on my body to hold an ambiguous body form of the required structure. The structures are built upon by adding Plaster layers to shape and re-form what lies underneath them.

this work aims to re-contextualize soft materials into 3-dimensional sculptural objects by; creating structures that convey movements frozen in space and moments preserved in time. The movements and moments of the fabric concealing the body will touch on an underlying aspect of the relations between bodies, objects, and identity. These objects consist of layers of clothes cut in rags and sheets to represent the structures that re-interpret the body and re-imagins the self, surrounding, concealing, and unconcealing the body at every moment.
